camelcamelcamel, Keepa or SaveIQ: which Amazon price tracker to use in Canada

5 min read · Updated October 5, 2026 · Prices and specifications checked October 5, 2026

If you shop on Amazon.ca and want to know whether a price is good, there are three free tools worth knowing: camelcamelcamel, Keepa and SaveIQ. All three work with Amazon’s Canadian store. They answer slightly different questions.

SaveIQ is this site, so read this as one of the three describing the field. What we say about Keepa comes from its features page, and what we say about camelcamelcamel comes from its Chrome extension listing and its homepage, all read on October 5, 2026. We only state what we could confirm there.

The short answer

Use Keepa or camelcamelcamel when you want a chart: the full price history of a product, going back years, that you read yourself.

Use SaveIQ when you want the answer: one call of Buy, Fair or Wait from the last 90 days, the reason in a sentence, and the same product at other Canadian stores.

They are not exclusive. SaveIQ’s price history comes from Keepa, and we point to Keepa and camelcamelcamel in our own guides when a longer chart is the right tool.

Keepa: the most detail

Keepa’s features page describes price history charts that cover new, used and Warehouse Deals prices, sales rank, Buy Box history and offer counts, and says you can zoom out to view years of data.

Charts and its deals page work without an account. A free account adds price watches, notifications and synced settings. Alerts are set at a price you choose, and can also tell you when a product is back in stock.

The Keepa extension puts the chart directly on the Amazon product page, and is available for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera. There is a free mobile app for Android and iOS with a barcode scanner.

Keepa also offers what it calls Pro Data and an API for Amazon sellers and developers. A shopper checking one product does not need either.

camelcamelcamel: the familiar one

camelcamelcamel has a Canadian site at ca.camelcamelcamel.com. Its Chrome extension, The Camelizer, is described on the Chrome Web Store as a way to view historical pricing data and set up watches that email you when the price drops, and the listing names Amazon Canada among the supported stores.

On October 5, 2026 that listing showed about 800,000 users and a last update in June 2024.

Its homepage describes it as a free Amazon price tracker that alerts you to good deals, and has pages for popular products and top price drops. On October 5, 2026 a banner there announced Walmart price history on a separate site, camelmart.com; we have not checked whether that covers Walmart Canada.

We did not go through its product pages for this guide, so we are not listing its features in more detail than that. If you already use it and it does what you need, nothing here is a reason to stop.

SaveIQ: the verdict, and other stores

Paste an Amazon.ca link, or describe the product, and SaveIQ reads the last 90 days of price history. It gives one call, Buy, Fair or Wait, with the reason written out under it. A Buy needs the price to be within 5% of the 90-day low.

The same check lists other Canadian stores selling the same product when we can match it with confidence, with a link to each store’s own page. Keepa and camelcamelcamel track Amazon’s own price.

There is no account. You can leave an email to be told once when the price drops, and a Chrome extension shows the verdict on the Amazon page.

Where SaveIQ stops

Ninety days is the whole window. It tells you whether today’s price is good right now. It cannot show you last year’s Black Friday price; a Keepa or camelcamelcamel chart can.

SaveIQ covers Amazon.ca only, not Amazon.com or other countries. It does not show used or Warehouse Deals prices, and it does not let you choose your own alert price.

The comparison with other stores is often empty. We only list a store when the model, size and pack count match, and many products fail that test.

Which one for which job

You want to know quickly whether to buy today: SaveIQ, or the 90-day view on either chart.

You want to know how this sale compares with last year’s: Keepa or camelcamelcamel, zoomed out.

You want an alert at an exact price: Keepa.

You want to know whether another Canadian store has it for less: SaveIQ, then confirm the model number on the store’s page.

You sell on Amazon and need sales rank and stock data: Keepa.
