Was Black Friday 2025 the cheapest time to buy on Amazon.ca? We checked 223 products over 12 months

5 min read · Updated October 30, 2026 · Prices and specifications checked October 26, 2026

Black Friday is sold as the one day of the year to buy. We looked at what actually happened last year. SaveIQ keeps a daily price record for the products on its Price Watch list, and for 223 of them we have a full year, from late October 2025 to late October 2026. That shows where each Black Friday 2025 price sits against everything that came after.

Black Friday 2025 was a real sale, but for about half of these products it was not the lowest price of the year, and even the best Black Friday prices came back later.

The short answer

From Black Friday to Cyber Monday (November 28 to December 1, 2025), the lowest price of each product was a median 17% below its October 2025 price. For 145 of the 223 products (65%) it was at least 10% lower.

For 110 products (49%), that Black Friday price matched the lowest price of the following twelve months. The other 113 got cheaper at some other point, by a median 13% below their Black Friday price.

Even the best Black Friday prices came back. Of the 110 products that were at their yearly low on Black Friday, 77 were at that same price again at some point after December 7.

For 61 products (27%), the Black Friday price was no lower than in October.

Four examples from the record

Logitech MX Master 3S mouse: $119.99 through October 2025, then $159.99 from early November. The Black Friday price was $129.99, a deal against November but $10 more than in October. It was back to $119.99 by December 8, and dropped to $99.98 in April 2026.

Apple Watch SE (2nd generation, 44 mm, GPS): $269.99 to $279 in October 2025. From about November 10 it was $339.97, and it stayed at $339.97 through Black Friday and Cyber Monday, about 26% more than in late October.

Apple iPad mini (A17 Pro, 128 GB): $599.99 on Black Friday, the same as most of October. It was $549.99 in the last days of December, during Boxing Week.

Instant Pot RIO, 6 quart: through October and early November the price moved between $119.99 and $159.99 from one week to the next. Black Friday brought $119.99, its usual lower price. It went to $109.99 at the end of December.

What this means for Black Friday 2026 (November 27)

Compare with the October price, not the “was” price. Write down or screenshot the price in October. A Black Friday price that is not below it is not a Black Friday deal, whatever the label says.

Do not treat Black Friday as the last chance. Half of these products got cheaper later in the year, and Boxing Week (December 26 to 31) was the other big moment: 65 of the 223 products were at their yearly low then.

Check the history before you pay. On Amazon.ca, a SaveIQ price check reads the product’s last 90 days and says whether today’s price is a real low, about normal, or worth waiting on.

How we counted

Products: the products on SaveIQ’s Price Watch list with a daily price on at least 300 of the 365 days from October 26, 2025 to October 25, 2026, and with prices for Black Friday and for October 2025. That is 223 of 303. The list is made of popular products chosen in 2026, not a random sample of Amazon.ca.

Prices: one price per day. Up to late September or early October 2026 the daily price comes from the product’s price history at Keepa; after that it is SaveIQ’s own reads, taken several times a day. All of Black Friday and Boxing Week 2025 comes from the Keepa history.

Black Friday price: the lowest daily price from November 28 to December 1, 2025. October price: the median daily price in October 2025. Year low: the lowest price that held on at least 3 different days in the twelve months, so a one- or two-day price glitch cannot set it. Prices within 1% count as the same.

We did not account for coupons, Subscribe & Save, Prime-only prices or Lightning Deals, so a shopper using one of those may have paid less on a given day.
